Linocut Printmaking and Reduction Lino
6 week evening class, Tuesdays 7 – 9pm, 19th September – 24th October 2023
£150 (10% off for CPW members)
This 6 week course is suitable for beginners or seasoned printmakers alike. Participants will explore the traditional art of linocut using a range of tools and printing by hand or with the presses in the workshop. Reduction lino is the process of cutting and printing in stages from the same block to produce an edition of multi-coloured original prints. The course provides a broad foundation for working with lino and printing in relief to create striking graphic effects.
The Magic of Print
6 week evening class, Tuesdays 7 – 9 pm, 7th November – 12th December 2023

This six week course is intended as an introduction to the art of Printmaking. Participants will learn about all aspects of print craft, including working with the presses, printing by hand, inks and tools. The course is designed to offer the opportunity for creative exploration and will provide a solid basis for further work in printmaking at the workshop or from home. Monotype, paper making, drypoint etching, collograph and chine colle are all techniques that will be explore during the course.
Monotype Printmaking – using plants and stencils
Saturday 10am – 4 pm, 23rd September 2023

Explore the simplest and most direct form of printmaking using, stencils and plants to create detailed and striking prints. Monotype is the art of manipulating the inks on the surface of a plate from which to print. In this fascinating and rewarding process one print leads to another…
Monotype Printmaking – 3 colour reduction
Saturday 10am – 4 pm, 30th September 2023
£75 (10% off for CPW members)
In this 3 colour technique combining the process colours of cyan, magenta and yellow each plate is registered and layered together to create a single print. Participants will work into 3 inked transparent plates with cotton buds and sticks using a key drawing underneath. As the plates are combined and registered together in the press, a full spectrum of rich colour and tone is created.
Photopolymer Etching
Saturday 10am – 4 pm, 21st October 2023
£95 (10% off for CPW members)
This course is suitable for beginners or seasoned printmakers alike. Anyone with a passion for printmaking and photography will be fascinated by this technique of transposing a digital image to an intaglio plate. This one day workshop will cover all aspects of exposing and developing a photopolymer plate and printing from it.
Collograph Cards
Saturday 10am – 4 pm, 25th November 2023

Make a set of unique cards for Christmas and New Year. This fun and creative workshop will explore the possibilities of using tetra-pac to make a range of beautiful hand printed greeting cards.
