So far this year Cardiff Print Workshop have run a number of very successful classes and workshops for its members and the public. Our classes are capped at no more than 6-8 participants so these are intimate sessions with printmaking processes covered in detail by the tutor.

Our Introduction to Printmaking course was a great way to get to know the workshop and try some of the staple processes that it has to offer.

The directness and freedom of monotype:

Drypoint etching with its sharp focus on line and detail:

Collograph using tetra-pac to explore pattern, texture and tone:

Our Saturday day workshops included sessions on the art of using coloured tissue paper during printing (Chine Collé) for etching (intaglio):

And for linocut (relief):

We continue into the spring this year with many more classes to come, including Reduction Linocut, Photopolymer Etching, Etching Copper with Ferric Chloride and a special course that celebrates all things painterly in print!
