I retired from a career as an Art Therapist two years ago and looking for a way to revive my own art practice, I chanced upon an introduction to printmaking course in Cardiff Print workshop. I was immediately hooked and since then print has been my main focus. My prints draw inspiration from walks near my home in Cardiff. I am interested in the stories that unfold within ordinary, everyday spaces, and I aim to capture the restlessness and constant transformation of the natural world, a world to which we are intrinsically connected. In an era filled with environmental anxiety, I find myself searching for symbols of resilience and hope whether it’s the sight of birds, the persistence of weeds, or signs of survival within urban settings.

My practice incorporates a variety of techniques, with a particular emphasis on collagraph, monoprint, and collage. I am drawn to the unpredictable, often accidental, aspects of printmaking and embrace the opportunity to layer images and textures, creating depth both visually and conceptually. Through this process, I explore how meaning can be built up over time, just as the world around us evolves in both subtle and profound ways.
