All classes are held at the workshop studio with parking nearby and taught by experienced and qualified printmakers. Due to the size of our studio classes are restricted to 6 participants or less. We are open to beginners as well as artists with previous experience.

Sunday 8th February 10 – 4PM (1 day class)
You will learn how to use non-traditional ARE (acrylic resist etching) as an introduction to non-toxic, safer ways of etching onto aluminium and creative ways of mark making using a variety of methods to produce a small edition of prints on archival paper. All these methods are processes that can be recreated in your own creative spaces!

A Guide to Printmaking at CPW
Tuesdays 7 -9pm Jan. 13th / 20th /27th / Feb. 3rd / 10th / 17th 2026
This course will be an introduction to printmaking techniques practiced at Cardiff Print Workshop. In 6 weekly sessions participants will explore a range of techniques and approaches that are common to the craft of printmaking. You will learn how to use layering, masking, transfer methods and photography to create original prints and gain experience of working the presses and other facilities.

Reduction Linocut

Reduction Linocut
Tuesdays 7 – 9pm March 3rd / 10th / 17th / 24th / 31st / April 7th 2026
Learn the art of linocut using the reduction method. This is the process of cutting and printing in stages from the same block to produce an edition of multi-coloured original prints. Over this 6 week course you will explore techniques for transferring images to the block, the traditional art of cutting, learning how to mix inks and use the rollers and presses at CPW.
