Learn how to use alternative ARE (acrylic resist etching) methods to apply tone, from light smoky tones to deep velvety blacks on your zinc and copper plates.
ARE (acrylic resist etching) techniques that are easy and safe to use both in the workshop and in your own studios. This summer etching course will be an expansive approach to etching allowing you to continue to develop and work plates between sessions. They are suitable for all levels of ability from beginners to established printmakers with no prior knowledge of etching required. All materials are included except extra for zinc and copper plates.
