Drypoint Etching and Collograph Printmaking

Saturday 10am – 4pm

Saturday 21st November 2026

Drypoint etching and collograph are ‘intaglio’ printmaking techniques. Intaglio printmaking is a process by which lines are inscribed directly into the surface of a metal or plastic plate, as with drypoint. Or as with collograph, a card surface is built up with line and texture using various materials. Both techniques are printed by rubbing ink into the surface of the plate and wiping it back, leaving ink where it has been caught inside the lines and textures on the plate.

These techniques offer a direct and versatile way to produce a printed image that is rich in tone and expressive mark-making.

This one day course is suitable for beginners and experienced printmakers alike.

Places in the class are limited to 6 only.
